Terms of use
Last updated: 2 November 2026
These terms cover the SumpIQ app and website, made by Jacques Louw, Western Cape, South Africa ("we"). By using SumpIQ you agree to them.
What SumpIQ does
SumpIQ helps you keep machine coolant at the right strength. It works out amounts from the numbers you enter and from manufacturers' data sheets. It is a guide, not a guarantee. Your coolant supplier's instructions and safety data sheets always come first. Check readings, wear the protection your supplier specifies, and use your own judgement — especially with anything that affects health, safety or expensive parts.
The free app
The free app is free to use, keeps your data on your phone, and is provided as it is.
The paid version (Shop subscription)
- The subscription is bought and renewed through Google Play, under Google Play's terms. Google handles payment, renewals and cancellation (Play Store → Payments & subscriptions).
- It renews each period until cancelled. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the current period runs to its end.
- If the subscription ends, your shop's data is kept for 90 days. Machines beyond the free limit become read-only. If you subscribe again within 90 days, everything comes back; after that the cloud data is deleted.
- Founding prices stay locked for as long as the subscription runs without a break.
- The business owner is responsible for who they invite and the roles they give.
Your data
Your shop's data belongs to you. How we handle it is in the privacy policy. You can delete it at any time — see delete your data.
Fair use
Don't misuse the app or try to get at other shops' data. We may suspend accounts that do.
Liability
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, lost production or damage caused by relying on the app's figures instead of checking them. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under South African consumer law that cannot be excluded.
Changes
We may update these terms; the date above changes when we do. Big changes are announced in the app first.
